MCM Comic Con London has been cancelled. In an announcement last night, event organiser ReedPop confirmed that this year’s event would no longer take place as a result of the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

ReedPop announced that due to “the restrictions and guidelines put in place due to COVID-19, we know we will be unable to deliver the high quality experience our fans and exhibitors have come to expect and value from our events. After extensive discussions with local and national authorities, and after listening to our fans and exhibitors, we have taken the decision to not go ahead with this event.”

The event, which was due to take place in October, will now be replaced by an online alternative in August, although no details on that have been shared yet.The cancellation of the autumn event follows those of comic cons across the UK earlier this year, as well as a number of other events relating to videogames and esports across the world.
